Announcing our latest API manufacturing accreditation.
Our global capabilities strengthen your strategic advantage

INTRODUCTION

The LoneStar Group is now compliant with API 20E 3rd Edition through its regional manufacturing locations. This update complements and further enhances our extensive API approvals and accreditations across the entire global LoneStar Group (see API Composite List for details).

A legacy of excellence.

API was formed in 1919 as a standards-setting organisation and remains the global leader in convening subject matter experts across segments to establish, maintain and distribute consensus standards for the oil and gas industry. In its first 100 years, API has developed more than 800 standards to enhance operational safety, reduce waste, increase efficiencies, bring products to market quicker and improve environmental protection across the global industry. In 2017, API added the requirement of standards 20E and 20F for the qualification, production and documentation for bolting used in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

As a partner to many of the world’s foremost oil and gas majors, the LoneStar Group has always stayed abreast of the latest updates from API, ensuring we continue to strengthen our legacy of manufacturing and supplying industry-leading products.

Specification requirements.

API 20E 3rd Edition specifies requirements for the qualification, production, and documentation of alloy and carbon steel bolting used in the petroleum and natural gas industries. This 3rd Edition accreditation differs from the outgoing 2nd Edition by establishing three bolted joint specification levels – BSL1, BSL2, and BSL3 – with increasing levels of technical, quality and qualification requirements. The API Monogram Program’s effective date was March 7, 2025.

To achieve this latest accreditation, LoneStar Fasteners Hydrobolt (LSFH), has redemonstrated that our robust and internationally recognised quality management systems are compliant with API Spec Q1. In addition, further qualification testing on our extensive raw materials stockholding and in-house manufacturing processes ensures our compliance meets or exceeds the relevant API quality specifications from purchasing through to job completion.

‘Having achieved API 20E 3rd Edition accreditation demonstrates our ongoing dedication to innovative leadership in the industry. It will increase our customers’ trust in our products while strengthening their own reputation for quality and reliability.’ Brad Collins, Divisional Quality and Compliance Director. LoneStar Fasteners Hydrobolt Ltd.

‘API 20E 3rd Edition enhances standardisation, consistency and quality assurance of critical bolting materials, significantly reducing the risks of catastrophic consequences within the world’s harshest environments.’ Jose Rodriguez. Methods and Quality Manager. LoneStar Fasteners, Houston.
